Enjoy our general FAQs below.

What are your COVID-19 protocols?

Cardiology Consults continue to be done via phone with the cardiologist. All scheduled appointments will receive a confirmation call from one of our staff members.

Echocardiogram and Stress Echocardiogram referrals will be scheduled for the next available appointment unless deemed urgent by the referring physician.

Holter and Blood Pressure monitors are available using our “personal placement” protocol. Scheduled appointments to pick up a device are preferred to support social distancing.

Holter, EKG, and Blood Pressure Monitors can be accommodated, but scheduled appointments are preferred. In addition, all Echocardiograms and Stress Echocardiograms will be scheduled at this time.

For questions or concerns please email us at contact@windsorheart.org

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

Call our number or email contact@windsorheart.org. Include your full name (spell last name), date of birth, and appointment date/time.

Do I book an appointment if I need a prescription refilled?

Have your pharmacy fax a refill request to the office.

What if I am having heart-related issues and my family doctor is unavailable?

Some issues can be resolved with your own physician, such as changes in blood pressure. Call our office to schedule a consult with your cardiologist. You should ALWAYS call 911 or go to the emergency department if you have immediate concerns.

Do I have to pay for parking?

At the Windsor location, parking is $3.00 flat-rate, cash only. You are required to pay upon exit.

At the Essex Location, parking is free.

What is the payment protocol for patients without OHIP?

Patients who do not have OHIP are required to pay cash prior to or on the day of their appointment. WHI can provide the necessary paperwork that you will need if you have private or out-of-province insurance and are looking to be reimbursed if covered.

Out-of-province patients should bring their current health card, identification, and previous and current address in order to validate coverage.

International students may have coverage and should review their individual plan.

What if I forgot to stop my medication?

Please call the office as you may be able to continue with the stress test.

How long does it take for my consultation or testing to be booked?

Urgent consultations and testing is scheduled within 24 to 48 hours of the request being received. Wait time for testing depends on the type of test you are having. For example, Echocardiograms and Stress Echocardiograms may be scheduled up to two weeks out.
